Nails

Reviving a Kansas Stone Legacy

I have been away from this project for about three weeks baling hay. Seemed like I was working from early in the morning till late at night. I have started separating the lumber. Most all of it has lots of nails. The nails are hand cut which means 140 years ago a black smith would heat up a piece of metal and hand cut each nail. Each nail has cut sides and is tapered. I also pulled out a section of roof that has the original wood shingles. I am going to try and save all that I can so they can be reused.
